    James and his crew did a terrific job renovating my 1890's-era home on Providence's West side - everything from new floors to adding insulation and new drywall, improving the electrical systems, improved plumbing on two floors, updating the kitchen and dining room with new cupboards, and adding a new master bath on the 2nd floor.     When we decided to completely renovate our first floor apartment of our 100 yr old house, after years of falling short on purchasing a single family home . I came across a listing for Garcia Home Improvement on the internet. Initially skeptical , we were pleasantly surprised on how prompt and knowledgeable, James was at our initial meet . He was very thorough and broke things down for us . We hired James and his crew to install / remove older windows…… and re frame ( inc load bearing wall), the first floor . The communication and meticulous work was evident, having James work hand in hand with his crew, provided us with exactly what we had envisioned.     Fast, reliable and reasonably priced work. Had to get the gutters replaced and they were there faster than I expected to get it done. James has done a lot of work at our home over the years and have never had any issues. Just good people who do good work. See more See less

    We worked with James to do two of our bathrooms (one in 2021 and the other in 2025), and we are VERY pleased with both! James is awesome to work with! Both projects were on budget and completed in about 2-3 weeks. Any issues that popped up James let me know immediately and provided a solution/recommendation.     James and his team did an amazing job! They repaired our garage roof after a tree fell on it. They removed and replaced the old shingles, repaired the wood and replaced the gutter. All of the work was done in one day. They did a great job cleaning up after the work was done. Very professional and strongly recommended. See more See less

    I have worked with James for years now and never, ever been disappointed. His work is exceptional and his rates very reasonable. He does what he says he will, shows up every day until the job is done and delivers one heck of a product. The guys he works with are also wonderful and I never worry turning the house (and dogs!) over to him. His level of detail and commitment to excellence is amazing and his product is top notch.     James and team have done carpentry work for us in the past, and recently put a new ceiling, lighting, repaired damaged walls, painted, and installed a new door for a much needed renovation of our bathroom.     James did the renovation of our house before we bought it, so he was the obvious choice to have work on it after that. But we wouldn't have continued having him work on the house for the past eight years if we weren't pleased with his work. He's done all kinds of things for us, large and small: Roof and screen our deck; redo a shower; replace the front porch, portico, and door; replace a few other exterior doors; and so forth.     We recently had our front and rear steps replaced by James from Garcia’s Home Improvement and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the job was done with precision and professionalism. James was punctual, communicated clearly, and paid great attention to detail. The craftsmanship on both sets of steps was outstanding — sturdy, well-built, and beautifully finished. James has a solid crew that are good workers, very polite and easy to talk to. I highly recommend and will add pictures of the work done.     James and his crew added a full bathroom in our basement from start to finish. They did the whole job from plumbing to electrical, including all the tile and finish work. James is very meticulous with everything he does. His words are "if I won't do it in my house I wouldn't do it in yours" and I will stand by that. He helped with the layout and glad he did, he has tons of experience with remodeling. I'm glad we went with James even though he wasn't the cheapest price we received, but the work shows the quality they put out. Everything was perfect and we will use Garcia Home Improvement & Remodeling for all our future projects. If I could give him company more stars I would!!!!! See more See less
